DMV to start mailing driver's licenses (News 14 Carolina)

RALEIGH -- If you must renew your driver's license this year, you will be one of the first to receive your license in a new way. A law called "Central Issuance" takes effect Tuesday and will be phased into North Carolina counties through the rest of the year, starting with Harnett County.

Tougher ban on same-sex union sought (The News & Observer)

Opponents of same-sex marriage are making another attempt to amend the state's constitution to ensure such unions do not become law in North Carolina.
